NODA >> The National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) was founded in 1899 "To protect and advance the interests of operatic and dramatic art and of societies engaged therein". It has a membership of some 2300 amateur societies and 2500 individual enthusiasts throughout the UK, staging musicals, operas, plays, concerts and pantomimes in a wide variety of performing venues ranging from a county's leading professional theatres to tiny village halls. NODA is a registered charity with the Lord Lloyd-Webber as it's patron. NODA aims 1) To give a shared voice to the amateur sector; 2) To help amateur societies and individuals achieve the highest standards of best practice and performance; 3) To provide leadership and advice to enable the amateur sector to tackle the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
The Somerset Fellowship of Drama The SFD is an umbrella organisation whose mission is to promote amateur theatre throughout the county. For many years it was a sub-committee of the Community Council for Somerset and and at the time was responsible mainly for organising competitive drama for its 49 member groups. It also had 70 or so individual members - people who were supportive of its aims and interested in helping.
Just over 10 years ago, with the support of most of our members and under the inspired leadership of our then-chairman Mike Linham, we decided to become independent. It was a bold step into the unknown, but it seems to have paid off. Since then we have seen a considerable increase in both our membership (82 groups and 200 individuals at the last count) and in the range of activities we provide for them.

FAOS Website Design:
Mercer Design The FAOS are most fortunate to have selected Mercer Design to design our new website. Tim and Helen Mercer run their small perfectly-formed concern from a converted chapel in the middle of nowhere. Leaving aside Tim's artistry as a photographer, Helen's exquisite design skills and their enthusiastic team of young designers, you sense this is no ordinary "supplier".
